Lukashenko changes administrative procedures

In January 2024, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree amending and clarifying existing administrative procedures. The reform aims to optimize public service operations and reduce administrative burdens on citizens. Key provisions include reducing the number of required documents in over 100 areas, automating data collection within state systems, and shortening processing times for certain procedures. For example, the timeframe for issuing an inspection report on the conservation of unfinished construction has been reduced from one month to 20 calendar days. The legal framework also introduces new administrative procedures, such as obtaining consent from guardianship authorities when disposing of residential property on behalf of a minor receiving state support. To enhance legal protection for citizens, mandatory documents have been added in specific cases, such as property transactions involving state registration that establish joint spousal ownership.
