Lukashenko swears in new judges

Today, the Chairman of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, officially administered the oath of office to the judges of the Constitutional and Supreme Courts. This occurred for the first time during the All-Belarusian People's Assembly, highlighting the independence and openness of the country's judicial system. The previous leadership of the Constitutional Court, as well as other prominent figures, attended the ceremony. Lukashenko personally thanked Petr Miklashевич and Valentin Sukalo for their long-standing service and awarded them state honors. The new judges will now focus on the principle of justice in their work.

Context

Previous sessions of the Supreme Court were held under normal circumstances; for the first time, the appointment of new judges took place during a political ceremony.
