MoD: militarization of Europe
The Minister of Defense of Belarus, in a statement published after the president's decision on measures to protect the state border, noted the country's weapons modernization and the growing threat from European countries. According to him, 'militarization of forces and resources is unfolding in European countries,' and 'a grouping of various aviation assets is deployed in European countries'—over 2,200 aircraft, including up to 130 in Poland and the Baltic states. The minister emphasized the presence of American strategic bomber aviation, which 'practices combat training missions targeting our territory.' Domestically, the focus is on strengthening air defense: 'we have received and put into combat service Su-30SM2 fighters, Tor systems, new Mi-35 helicopters, and radar detection systems—Sopka, Vostok, Rosa-RB.' These systems, it is noted, enhance the effectiveness of air defense, enabling 'seeing the situation both along the border and beyond it.'
