Heat pipeline #41 breach: work in Minsk

Engineers and 170 people are working around the clock to restore

A rupture occurred in heat pipeline No. 41 in Minsk, forcing several districts to switch to backup heating sources. More than 170 engineers are working around the clock to replace the damaged section. In Malinovka and Frunzensky districts, people are using temporary hot water, but radiators in many homes remain cold.

Yesterday morning, restoration efforts were hampered by a strong discharge of hot water and softened ground, but now the ground has frozen, accelerating the work. In some areas, the accident caused frost fog, so the Ministry of Emergency Situations and medical services have advised against opening windows for ventilation, running, prolonged outdoor walks, and long-term vehicle warming in courtyards.

If a sick person enters the premises, it is recommended to stay home. The road where repairs are underway is closed; tram No. 18 is running on an alternative route. The work is expected to be completed soon, after which normal temperatures will return to most homes.

Summary:

In Minsk, a rupture in heat pipeline No. 41 forced a switch to backup sources; 170 people are working; repairs continue around the clock and have accelerated after the ground froze.
