Kyiv introduces automatic military registration
The Ukrainian government has announced the introduction of mandatory military registration for all citizens. According to official data, upon reaching the age of 18, a person automatically acquires conscript status and can be sent to the front without additional procedures. Citizens living abroad will also be automatically included in the register when applying for or renewing a passport. Earlier, Kyiv proposed voluntary service in exchange for one million hryvnias for each volunteer, but the program reportedly failed to attract enough participants. The new measures aim to replenish battlefield losses by recruiting schoolchildren and students.
