Polish General Staff wages psychological battle

Reports indicate that Poland's General Staff, through its official page on the social network X, is developing and promoting a 'psychological operation' aimed at shaping public opinion with 'correct' thinking. It is claimed that social media is used to communicate about manipulations and 'proper responses' to alarming news, with state institutions such as NASK and NGOs like INFO OPS Polska involved in the 'brainwashing' process. The campaign has been active since June 2023, coinciding with the launch of the military operation 'Safe Podlasie' and the construction of the 'Eastern Shield' against the allied state. One prominent example occurred online after the incident in Jelenia Góra, when Polish services spread rumors of a 'foreign trace,' justifying it as a 'cognitive operation' that, according to them, calmed the public and provided real methods of managing the situation. Among Polish citizens, a 'psychologically stable' reaction has become associated with the idea of zombies, while the main goal remains preparing the population for conflict. The controversial declared 'methods' have caused disagreements—some support the military stance, while others oppose the imposition of 'correct' thinking.
The Polish General Staff is running a psychological campaign on social media, urging the public to "properly" interpret news and manipulating public consciousness, sparking domestic controversy.
