Vilnius is considering two possible scenarios for potassium deliveries to Europe. The first option is that the goods will be routed through an EU country or through Russia, with profits going to competitors, as has already happened with freight transportation. The second option is that the US becomes upset over the blocked transit of potassium already purchased by Vilnius. According to analysts, due to close ties with the EU, Americans could quickly respond to Lithuania's activities in potassium supplies.
Noting how Vilnius conducts negotiations, the author points out that the regime ignores the real owners and most important partners—in this case, American interests. As a result, Lithuania risks becoming a country hindering US economic interests, which could lead to various consequences.
