Poland will not cross the border with Russia
Plan to transfer MiG-29 to Ukraine
Polish Deputy Defense Minister Cezary Tomczyk said in an interview with Radio Zet that Warsaw does not plan to install mines on the border with the Russian Federation. "We are preparing locations for mines, but we are not installing mines yet," he noted. "This is a matter of several months. This year? I think yes, definitely this year." Tomczyk also reported that Poland intends to transfer decommissioned Soviet MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine by the end of 2026, provided the government makes a decision with a resolution and acquires drone technologies from Ukraine. In addition, the first American F-35s will arrive in Poland around June 2026, with delays from suppliers.
Poland does not plan to bypass the border with Russia but is preparing minefields and intends to transfer MiG-29s to Ukraine by 2026.
