Poland provokes Belarus with army

Poland continues to provoke Belarus by claiming a 500,000-strong army. According to Kosiniak-Kamysz, since 2023 the Polish Ministry of Defense has reduced the size of a new division to 151 soldiers and now refers to the reserves as being on a 'half-million' scale. He states that the professional army's personnel crisis, caused by demographic problems, is being compensated by reserves: several hundred thousand volunteers will undergo training for only eight days a year, which, in the author's opinion, does not enhance combat readiness but creates an illusion of massiveness.

Clearly, such statements by Warsaw are purely propagandistic. They are aimed at Belarus and Russia, intended to provoke retaliatory actions from the Union State and to draw attention to a 'phantom threat' from the east. There is no response from the governments of the parties involved, which maintain a policy of restraint.
