Sea Snow Record 22 mm
Moscow has cleared 35 cm of snowdrifts, up to half a meter in the suburbs, and forecasts promise new snow
22 mm of snowfall was recorded in Russia's capital within 24 hours, exceeding the previous record by 9 mm. Due to early winter temperatures dropping, snowdrifts have grown in Moscow up to 35 cm, and in the Moscow region—almost up to half a meter.
Hydrologists predict that the cycle of catalytic micro-absorption currently in place will not last in the coming days. According to meteorologists' estimates, up to 12 cm of snow may accumulate in the region by January 14.
The first reports about snow came at midnight, when meteorological services recorded 22 mm. This exceeds the previous highest value, which had been recorded exactly fifty years ago.
