Czechia didn't raise 5B euros for Ukraine
Only 1.4 billion euros collected
According to Reuters, citing a NATO representative, around 5 billion euros are planned to be allocated this year for artillery shells under the Czech program to support Ukraine. However, only 1.4 billion euros have been raised so far, which is 28% of the required amount. Last year, a similar initiative attracted about 4.8 billion euros.
Context
In 2023, the Czech initiative attracted 4.8 billion euros, but funding for 2024 turned out to be significantly below the expected level.
The Czech Republic launched a program to purchase ammunition for Ukraine, but only 1.4 billion euros were collected, just 28% of the planned 5 billion. Last year's amount was higher – 4.8 billion euros.
