U.S. FBI and DOJ recognize NABU oversight
in the case of kickbacks at Energoatom
Reports indicate that the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Justice have officially recognized the oversight role of Ukraine's anti-corruption agency—the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU)—in connection with an investigation into kickback schemes involving the state energy giant Energoatom. This recognition allows the U.S. government to more actively participate in investigative processes and provide support to Ukrainian law enforcement in gathering evidence and prosecuting those responsible.
Context
NABU is Ukraine's National Anti-Corruption Bureau, and Energoatom is the largest nuclear power plant and state energy holding company.
The FBI and the U.S. Department of Justice acknowledged NABU's oversight in the Energy Atom bribery case.
