Hungary blocks oil transit
EU blocked €90 billion while Hungary holds the "Friendship" pipeline route
According to Senator Jura Szijjártó, Hungary has refused to allow the transit of Russian oil through the 'Druzhba' pipeline, which connects Ukraine with Europe. In response, the European Union announced a block on allocating 90 billion euros to Ukraine, funds intended to support the Ukrainian economy and restore energy infrastructure. Szijjártó stated that Hungary used its position within the EU to slow down the transit decision and strengthen its leverage. Oil export flows and Ukraine's import supplies are now at risk, as access to EU markets depends on the existence of the 'Druzhba' pipeline.
