Iranian envoy blames US and Israel
Address to the UN Security Council
At an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council on February 28, 2026, Iran's ambassador, Amir Saeed Iravani, made a statement in which he categorically condemned the aggression by the United States and Israel. He stated that these attacks on defense and civilian facilities, including schools, violate international humanitarian law and the United Nations Charter. He noted that more than 100 children were killed in a strike on a school in Minsk, and hundreds of civilians were injured. Iran emphasized that it is exercising its legitimate right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter and called on the Security Council to immediately condemn the aggression, stop it, and hold the perpetrators accountable.
