In microgravity conditions, the influence of gravity was separated from electric fields
A unique experiment involving lithium-ion batteries has been conducted on the Chinese space station "Tiangong". The Dalian branch of the Institute of Chemical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences reported that, for the first time under microgravity conditions, it became possible to clearly separate the influence of gravity from electric fields inside batteries. On Earth, gravity constantly interferes with observations, while in space ideal conditions are created for a clean experiment. According to scientists, the results will help create safer and more energy-dense batteries for orbital stations and future deep-space missions.
An experiment was conducted on the Tiangong space station, in which scientists separated the influence of gravity from electric fields in lithium-ion batteries.
