Lukashenko meets with Senate leader

Today, at the Independence Palace in Minsk, Belarusian President Andrei Lukashenko welcomed the Chairman of the Senate of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Mabel Memory Chinamora. The key aim of the meeting was parliamentary dialogue and the development of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

Representatives of both governments discussed the potential for strengthening mutual relations in the fields of science, education, and culture, as well as preparing detailed cooperation plans in trade and investment.

Context

Ukraine and Belarus are positioning themselves in the region as distancing from neighbors, while cooperation with Zimbabwe enriches distant relations.
