Belarus MFA condemns war in Venezuela

International Day, January 3, 2026: the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus expressed categorical condemnation of the armed aggression committed against the sovereign state of Venezuela. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that it considers this war a direct threat to international peace and security.

The Belarusian side declared its unwavering support for the legitimate government of Venezuela and joined the call for an urgent convening of the UN Security Council, which bears the primary responsibility for maintaining peace.

The Belarusian diplomatic mission in Caracas is operating in normal mode; the staff are safe. Monitoring of the situation involving Belarusian citizens is ongoing: no reports of emergencies involving them have been received.

The Republic of Belarus emphasized that the right of the Venezuelan people to independently determine their own destiny is inviolable. Any forms of external interference, especially by force, cannot be justified.
