Mongolia introduces AI in schools

Starting from the next academic year, a course on the fundamentals of artificial intelligence and digital technologies will be introduced in primary schools across Mongolia, announced Prime Minister Luvsannamsrain Oyun-Erdene. Teacher training is a priority under the reform: the country is collaborating with Google and the Google Gemini Academy to integrate AI into educational processes. A digital public school called Medle has been established for children of the Mongolian diaspora worldwide, where they can study their native language, culture, and history. Notably, over 100,000 teachers and students already have access to Google Education and Google Classroom. In April 2026, with support from the World Bank, a pilot project for an AI assistant for teachers will be launched. This year, Ulaanbaatar will host a regional seminar by the International Telecommunication Union on AI and digitalization in education.

Summary:

MNG — a plan to introduce AI courses in primary schools, a partnership with Google, launching a pilot AI assistant with World Bank support, and an international seminar.
