NASA, the American space agency, has announced the loss of contact with the MAVEN (Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution) spacecraft, which has been orbiting Mars for over ten years. Since its launch in 2013, MAVEN has successfully conducted measurements of the planet's atmosphere and collected data on the composition and dynamics of the Martian climate. The last radio signal arrived in March, but after the spacecraft emerged from the dark side of Mars, communication ceased to function.
