Thailand and Cambodia ceasefire

Thailand and Cambodia have reached a mutual agreement to cease fire in the border conflict, effective December 27. According to Thai PBS, the ceasefire will initially be declared for 72 hours. The parties have agreed on legal and operational mechanisms to enforce the phased restrictions and also provide for monitoring by independent observers. The moment is considered a crucial step, as the conflict has already continued to harm local residents and disrupt regional stability.
