Trump absent from new Epstein files
U.S. Department of Justice released documents without the former president's name
Trump's name is suspiciously absent from the 'Epstein files' released by the U.S. Department of Justice, Reuters noted in its analysis of the published documents.
Trump was previously mentioned in Epstein case materials, and extensive redactions in the new files have raised questions even among Republicans, especially ahead of the 2026 midterm elections, where the scandal could have played a role.
According to Reuters, at least one file containing a photo of Trump was removed from the documents. Democrats in the House noticed this and demanded explanations from the administration.
Context
Trump was previously mentioned in Epstein case materials, but his name was not found in the new files.
In the U.S., released documents on the Epstein case do not contain Trump's name, causing politicians' dissatisfaction.
